As one of the largest 501(3)c organizations in Edgar County, The Rec Center relies on our annual fundraiser to sustain our existence. Running now for a collective 27 years, this is one of the most anticipated events of the year for our community. Guests get to enjoy a fun, memorable evening, knowing that everything they are giving helps to keep our doors open to serve our community.

The Shawna Morrison Memorial 5K has been a long standing event that originally began as the Honeybee 5K in the 1980’s. In 2005, the race was renamed in memory of Sgt. Shawna Morrison, a Paris native and avid runner who lost her life in Iraq while serving with the National Guard 1544th Transportation Company.
