“We were fortunate to see not only our children but also our grandchildren reap the benefits of having a year-round pool in Paris. The pool was such a tremendous attribute because of the many different opportunities it provided to so many people. As the years have passed, we have become more troubled by the fact that the pool is no longer open. We heard The Rec was exploring the possibility of reopening the pool, and we asked to see the facility. After our tour, we knew we wanted to help. The Rec is an organization that is on the right path, and it has an extremely passionate staff. Because of this, we felt confident taking a leap of faith and making our gift to kick-start their effort to reopen the pool and revitalize their facility. We have always known this community to be a philanthropic one, and we hope others will join us in supporting The Rec’s efforts. What’s Missing?
Steam on the inside of plate glass windows, the unmistakable sounds of arms and legs splashing water, echoes of kids’ laughter bouncing off the elevated ceiling. In short … an aquatics program is missing!
For over three decades, the now-empty pool inside our building used to offer unparalleled benefits to the community. Generations of kids learned to swim in that pool, and equally as many adults enriched their lives daily through the unique benefits of aquatic exercise. A year-round pool in our community is sorely missed.
With the success of the “Dive In” campaign, The Rec will once again be able to offer this tremendous resource to our members, guests, and the community.
